Lauren Bishop’s research focuses on helping adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) achieve better health and quality of life as they age. Her current research, which is funded by a career development award (KL2) through the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health, focuses on: (1) characterizing patterns of health problems in a representative sample of decedents with ASD; (2) investigating heterogeneity in health risk in middle aged and older adults with ASD ; and (3) adapting and piloting an intervention designed to reduce distress and improve health for middle aged and older adults with ASD.
