Public Use Data

Welcome to IRP's web pages for public use data. These pages introduce and provide access to administrative and survey data from IRP's evaluation studies of child support reform. Access to subsets of the data is provided for public use by the Institute for Research on Poverty. In order to protect the identity of research subjects, various methods have been used to mask or otherwise guarantee the confidentiality of these data. In addition, data will not actually be provided to users, but will be made accessible through a research plan approval process, as described below. Data are currently available from the Child Support Demonstration Evaluation (CSDE) project. This project is an on-going evaluation of a random-assignment experiment in child support policy initiated by the state of Wisconsin as part of its Wisconsin Works (W-2) welfare reforms in 1997. Administrative and survey data are available in a public use format from Phase I of that project.
