Gifts & Contributions to the InstituteWe invite you to help us maintain a vigorous and productive community of poverty research scholars by contributing to the Institute for Research on Poverty's General Fund or to the Robert J. Lampman Memorial Fund. Contributions may be made either online (see descriptions of the funds below) or by mai. See "How to Contribute" below. IRP General Fund (1254994) Gifts to the IRP General Fund will be used to support the next generation of poverty research through graduate student awards, to recruit the best faculty affiliates, to bring nationally known lecturers to our campus, and to inform policymakers about new strategies for reducing poverty and how they might be implemented and evaluated. All contributions made by private individuals or groups directly to the Institute are processed through the University of Wisconsin Foundation. Robert J. Lampman Memorial Fund (12291922) To honor Robert J. Lampman (1920–1997), founding director and guiding spirit of the Institute for Research on Poverty, a fund has been established to support an annual lecture by a distinguished scholar on the topics to which Lampman devoted his intellectual career: poverty and the distribution of income and wealth. The Lampman family established the memorial with the help of the University of Wisconsin Foundation. The lecture series is organized by IRP, in cooperation with the University’s Department of Economics. The series offers a special opportunity to maintain and nurture interest in poverty research among the academic community and members of the public.
